Cindee Madison is a researcher/software engineer at UC Berkeley with the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute. Her graduate work was in photorealistic rendering and bayesian modeling of human perception, while her current position uses MRI, fMRI and PET to study aging. Working with python for the last 8+ years, she was a core developer on Nipype, as well as contributing to Nibabel and Nipy. During the last 5+ years she has been teaching computing to scientists and other groups, and has used/ referred to Software Carpentry in many of her talks.
When not coding, she can be found as far away from civilization as possible, backpacking in deserts or mountains or near the ocean.
