Ben Waugh is a physicist and programmer at University College London. He completed his PhD in High-Energy Physics (HEP) at the University of Manchester in 1996, then continued as a postdoc for six years. Most of this time was spent in Hamburg, working on the H1 experiment at the HERA electron-proton collider. He moved to UCL in 2002 and works in a range of computing-related roles: developing HEP software, teaching programming, and maintaining IT systems for the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
